Free Compost Available

The City of Penticton is offering free compost for all customers, while supplies last. 

The compost will be available for pickup from the compost facility at 1765 Reservoir Road (access off Spiller Road), from Tuesday, May 21, until Friday, May 24, from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. 

An operator and equipment will be available on-site to help load trucks and trailers. Self-loading will also be available during this time. Please ensure all loads are covered and/or tarped prior to leaving the site.

The compost will be available for pickup from the compost facility at 1765 Reservoir Road (access off Spiller Road).

Penticton’s compost is a safe, effective, environmentally friendly and affordable compost product that's ideal for use in top dressing, landscaping, on flower gardens, and as an additive in potting soil. 

Wastewater Compost

Penticton’s compost is the product of our innovative wastewater recycling program. It’s a safe, effective, environmentally friendly and affordable compost product that's ideal for use in top dressing, landscaping, on flower gardens, and as an additive in potting soil. Penticton compost consists of processed wastewater solids and wood chips.

Proposed Organics Compost Facility 

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is proposing to build an organics composting facility at 1313 Greyback Mountain Road in Penticton, adjacent to the Campbell Mountain Landfill (CMLF). Visit our Compost Facility webpage to learn more.
