Volunteer Opportunities

The Penticton RCMP Community Policing Unit is looking for dedicated volunteers to contribute to our programs.

Our Programs

If you have as little as five hours of free time per month and would like to help make your community a safer and more pleasant place to live, we may have an opportunity suitable for you. Consider signing up to get involved to contribute to our following programs:

  • Citizens on Patrol
  • Community Ambassador Foot Patrol & Bike Patrol
  • Lock Out Auto Crime
  • Speed Watch
  • South Okanagan Similkameen Restorative Justice Program
  • Victim Services

How to Qualify

In order to qualify, please consider the following questions:

  • Are you at least 19 years old?
  • Are you a resident of a community policed by the Penticton RCMP Detachment?
  • Are you able to work cooperatively with other people?
  • Are you able to write and communicate effectively?
  • Are you of suitable character: Do you possess maturity, tact and sound judgment, and have a good understanding of confidentiality?
  • Are you able to pass the security screening required by the RCMP?
