Looking for a place to launch your boat? Start here for your local boating information.

You’ll find public boat launches at the following locations within the City of Penticton:

  • Skaha Marina, 3895 Lakeside Road, Skaha Lake: Moorage and public boat launch. Parking for truck and trailers is available for a daily fee. Parking passes can be purchased at City Hall.
  • Okanagan Marina, 293 Marina Way, Okanagan Lake: Operated by the Penticton Yacht Club, the facility has 450 berths for boats ranging from 16 to 65-foot. Visit their website for details about the boat launch and floating fuel dock (seasonal).

Additional boat launches on Skaha Lake are located in Kaleden and Okanagan Falls.

Skaha Lake Boat Trailer Parking

Fees to park your vehicle with attached boat trailers are in effect as of May 1 for the Skaha Lake on-site lot and on-street parking South Main Street. See the map of permitted locations.

Half-day permits are $5.10 for up to 5 hours of parking, and full-day permits are $10.20 for 5 or more hours. These can be purchased at the ticket machine at Skaha Lake. If you launch your boat and then bring it elsewhere (friend's house, etc.) that allows trailer parking, there is no fee. Keep an eye out for related signs.

Annual permits for Penticton residents are $71.40 and non-residents are $107.10; both can be purchased at City Hall. This permit does not guarantee space, but you are able to park your vehicle and trailer in the on-site parking lot or permitted on-street parking. People are asked to provide proof of residency (photo ID, etc.) and permits must be hung from the rear view mirror so they are visible to enforcement staff.

Skaha Marina Boat Moorage – need a spot for your boat?

As part of the transition and set-up process for the new operator at the Skaha Marina, the City of Penticton requests that boat owners who presently hold slips at the Skaha marina reach out to the City to confirm their interest in retaining their slips, so that we can assist with a smooth transition into the upcoming season. Please email BoatMoorage.Skaha@penticton.ca.
