Dogs in Parks

Dogs are welcome on leash in most of Penticton's parks. Please enjoy all of our green spaces responsibly: be courteous, keep your dog leashed, and muzzle them if necessary, and always make sure you clean up after your dog. Remember, dogs are not allowed on sports fields, cemeteries, beaches (except where designated), school property or near children's playgrounds.

Leash-Optional Pilot Project Locations

Well-behaved dogs will have five new spaces to play outdoors as part of a “leash-optional” pilot project running from March 1 until Aug. 31, 2024. During this time, dogs within the designated zones will be allowed off-leash, with owner supervision. The list of locations is listed below, with maps of each.

Dog Park Upgrades

We will be making upgrades across the six existing off-leash dog parks this year, which will vary by park, including additions to improve accessibility, add shade structures and trees, and install safety features including self-closing gates or surface upgrades, among other improvements.
