Who could use a little art and inspiration in their lives right now? And some craft beer, too? Enter the much-anticipated art exhibition coming to Penticton this March: SQUARE Mural Project.
Penticton Art Gallery has joined forces with Cannery Brewing to launch this inaugural event, which will feature the murals of eight local artists at the brewery. In summer, the artwork will be moved outside to Cannery Brewing’s Backyard, and will later be auctioned off to the public.
When a call went out for artists earlier this year, a whopping 80 artists submitted entries. A jury narrowed the list to the eight following artists. Scope out their previous work. (Remember, their 4x4-foot murals are yet to be revealed!)

More about SQUARE
We can't wait to see what the artists come up with for their new mini murals. The idea behind this exhibit is to create an annual event inspired by the ArtWells Festival’s successful outdoor Mini Mural Project.
“We are so excited about this project, and I hope this is something we can continue in years to come,” said Paul Crawford, Curator at the Penticton Art Gallery. “There was an overwhelming number of applications received, so thank you to our great local artists. We would love to fill the town with as many murals as we can.”

Ian Dyck, co-owner of Cannery Brewing, said, “We are thrilled with the strong and diverse group of artists that have been selected to participate in this project. They all have distinct styles, and we can’t wait to see what they create to display at our brewery.”
