Sunshine, picnic baskets filled with treats, lake views and cold drinks… sounds like Picnic-ton season in Penticton! This Canada Day long weekend, why not order takeout food and drinks, roll out the picnic blankets and kick back at a local park?
Picnic-ton is a local initiative aimed to support food and drink businesses. Participating businesses have a selection of items to disperse to customers, including beach balls, drink koozies, coasters and more (limited numbers; ask your restaurant as you order). Also, spread the word on social media by using #picnicton!

About Picnic-ton
Picnic-ton was created in 2021 following recommendations from the COVID-19 Safe Restart Task Force to support local businesses and encourage local dining, with support from partners Visit Penticton, the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce, and the Downtown Penticton Association. This year’s two Pop-up Picnic-ton events (held at two downtown locations this June) also supported a Task Force recommendation to increase public space downtown with temporary road closures.
