Love Local: So what’s it all about?

Tag(s): Love Local

Love Local will draw strength from our community to generate support for small business and all things local. Now that businesses are finding new and innovative ways to safely reopen, they need our support more than ever. Love Local is about choosing local businesses first, whether it’s shopping online or ordering takeout, as well as showing kindness to keep our community strong.

This new awareness campaign, created by Penticton’s Economic Development department, will showcase the stories of business, social and arts and culture groups as we work collectively toward recovery.

How it Works

Love Local will use storytelling and social media to show how our community is working together to support local.

Its key focus is to amplify the efforts from community groups including Visit Penticton, the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Penticton Association, Penticton Farmers’ Market as well as social and arts groups including the Penticton Arts Council, OneSky Community Services, and many more.

Follow our Love Local page and the City’s social media channels for the latest updates, including profiles of community groups that are making a difference.

Businesses will be provided with posters carrying ‘Safely Open for Business’ messaging to post in their establishments.

Help Spread the Word

Show us how you love local. Spread the word about how this community has come together, whether it’s chalk art messages of thanks for front-line workers, painted rocks with inspirational messages, or a photograph of your amazing takeout meal.

Share your images on social media using #lovelocalpenticton.
