Right now, many of us are looking for ways to support our local restaurants. Ideas are flooding social media, with a community uprising voicing support and encouraging others to do the same.
Yes, local businesses need our help. This means contacting the restaurant directly to order takeout or pick up your order. It means seeking out a patio. It means trying someplace new, whether it’s a cuisine you haven’t tried before or a restaurant you have always been curious about.
What’s open? Which restaurants have patios?
Well, the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce is doing the homework for you, so all you have to do is sit back and place your order. Today, it has launched a new program called Dine Out & Give Back, running until Sunday, April 18.
What is Dine Out & Give Back?
Check out the Chamber’s ever-growing list of restaurants taking part in the Dine Out & Give Back program. There, you can see what’s open and what the restaurants are offering. Not only that, but simply by ordering from any of these businesses, you can enter to win gift cards for local restaurants (visit Castanet's page to enter).
Dine Out & Give Back is the Chamber’s version of Restaurant Week, highlighting local food and drink establishments on their website, social pages and local media platforms.
Calling all restaurants!
All restaurants throughout the South Okanagan are invited to take part – for free! You do not have to be a Chamber member to be included.
The Chamber's goal is to shine a spotlight on the amazing variety of food and drink establishments that make our valley great.
To find out more about registering, visit the Chamber's website.

Dine Out & Give Back launches April 1 and will only continue to build as the days progress. Keep checking the website for updates and new restaurants to try.
Also, a little birdie tells us that the City of Penticton is working on another Love Local-inspired initiative coming soon, also to support our local restaurants, cafés, craft breweries, wineries and other food and drink businesses. Stay tuned!
