Thrift and vintage hotspots in Penticton

Tag(s): Living Here, Local Profiles, Love Local

We all love a good deal. Why pay full price when you can buy a second-hand item at a fraction of the cost? Let’s face it – nabbing that pre-loved gem off the racks is all part of the thrill of the (bargain) hunt.

And here in Penticton, you can browse for hours and snag one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect your individual style.  Besides scoring fantastic deals, thrift shopping offers the added perk of sustainability. Whether it’s vintage clothing, rare books, or eclectic home decor, treasure hunting in Penticton’s thrift shops is as good for the earth as it is for your wardrobe and home.

On the flip side, maybe you have a designer handbag in your closet, collecting dust? See below for some local consignment shops where you can sell it to the next happy owner – and make a few bucks in the process.

We’ve pulled together this roundup of shops in Penticton alone (there are also many other great shops throughout the region) to help guide your next shopping exploration.  Have fun... and may you find that perfect something!

Opened in time for Christmas 2023, this hip downtown store is their second location. Shax first opened in Kelowna two years ago and has found a steady stream of customers coming up from the South Okanagan. Nestled in the 600 block of Main Street, the shop offers a well curated collection of vintage t-shirts, jeans and collectables.

Got some sweet clothing items that you think might be a fit? You can exchange them for store credit or maybe they'll even buy them outright. Come in for a browse and have a chat with the owners who clearly love what they do. Find them on Instagram 651 Main Street
