YMCA
The Jumpstart Employment Essentials Program is a 6 week group-based PAID employment training program for youth and young adults between the ages of 16 and 30 years old. Through the program, youth and young adults have the opportunity to create job documents such as a resume and cover letter; gain and develop employability skills such as communication, advocacy, interviewing, and time management; obtain certificates and receive referrals to wrap around community supports.
After the 6 weeks of in-person training, there is a 12 week follow-up period where facilitators provide participants and their employers general support during the training process once they have been hired. We can also provide employers with a wage subsidy if they hire an individual enrolled in the program.
