2025 Public Works Week
On Thursday, May 22, 2025, we celebrated a Public Works Week – Open House which was held at the City of Penticton Public Works Yard. Invitations went out to Penticton Elementary and Middle Schools which resulted in 1400+ students coming through the doors and into the works yard for a fully interactive experience. The children were provided a transit shuttle directly from school to the event where they got to interact and learn a little about what the Public Works Team does for our City. In addition to the invites to the Schools, we also invited the public to attend the open house and we advertised via City web site and social media. We also had City Councillors attend and take part in the celebration / recognition of our teams.
Union and management staff from Fleet, Utilities, Roads and Drainage, Engineering, Electrical Utility, Parks, Water and Waste Plants, Sustainability Dept, Procurement, along with our Solid Waste Contractor and the CUPE and IBEW Unions actively participated to make the day a success! We could not have done it without them!!
2023 Public Works Week
Our Public Works Week Open House attracted more than 400 residents and 480 school-aged kids, who received a first-hand look at what the City’s Public Works teams do every day.
